As the NFL regular season is nearing an end, with only four more weeks to play, the Dallas Cowboys sit atop the NFC East with a record of 7-5. Below them, the Redskins are tied with the Eagles at 6-6. However, due to the fact that Mark Sanchez is under center for Washington, the Eagles pose the only realistic threat to Dallas.

The Cowboys beat the Eagles the first time around, in Philly. So, with a hot Dallas team at home, the Cowboys should get away with a win. If Dallas does manage to win the game, they will be the clear favorites to win the division.

The Eagles have a tough 4 game stretch ahead of them. Philly plays at Dallas, at Los Angles Rams, home against the Texans, and finally at Washington. The chances they sweep the table are low. And the Rams and Texans will not be resting their starters because they are fighting for a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

However, do not trick yourself into thinking this Sunday’s game does not matter. It does.

If the Cowboys win out, they could be looking at a third seed in the playoffs, setting themselves up for a better wild-card match-up. Also, a win pretty much seals them as NFC East champs. The odds of the Cowboys winning the division would be 97% with a win. With a loss, the odds of the Cowboys winning the division goes down to 40%, per

The mentality of the Cowboys is that their backs are against the wall. They do not care about what is going on with other teams. But as fans, we are constantly looking around the league and implying those results in relation to the Cowboys. Blame this addiction to Jerry Jones– the great salesman.

How can the Cowboys clinch the NFC East?

The fastest way for the Dallas Cowboys to clinch the division would be to beat Philly, then the Colts, along with the Redskins losing one of their next two games (Giants, Jaguars). If Dallas takes care of their business. Playoffs will be in the team’s future, where anything can happen. If they relapse back into their poor ways, the last week of the season will be interesting.
